MARIETTA — Memorial Well being System will maintain its fortieth annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet on Aug. 23 on the Lafayette Resort in Marietta.

The Volunteer Recognition Banquet acknowledges volunteers who persistently show excellent high quality, amount of labor, customer support and dedication. A number of volunteers reached milestones within the variety of hours given throughout 2021.

“We treasure our volunteers. They’re particular and superb individuals who make the distinction for our sufferers and households,” mentioned Cindy Corridor, volunteer providers coordinator for Memorial Well being System. “Our theme this 12 months is The Coronary heart Behind the Fingers.

Volunteers stroll the additional mile to make a distinction in sufferers’ lives, she mentioned.

“They’re at all times appreciated for the necessary work they do,” Corridor mentioned. “They’re key to our success and we’re proud tocelebrate them. They assist in quite a few methods by greeting and escorting sufferers and their members of the family, delivering flowers, delivering veteran flags to our veteran sufferers, parking help and behind the scenes in workplaces, medical information,and different areas of the system.”

The next volunteers can be honored:

* 200 Hours: Bryan Berkemer, Jeff Bradford, Kay Brammer, Doris Brooker, Jamie Donnelly, Jack Heater, Tanner Hurst, Janet Lamp, Jean Lawrence, Wendy Lowe, Nancy Markle, Libby Rogers, Susan Shelton.

* 500 Hours: Rita Burchett, Pat Chambers, Amy Freed, Vella Lawrence, Margaret Logue, Barbara Martin, Abby Merrow, Sandra Smith.

* 1,000 Hours: Hilton Drake, Lois Holpp, Kirk McCall, Richard Sams, Melanie See, Jane Snider.

* 2,000 Hours: Elsie Bowens, Nicholas Graham, Carol Marteney, Richard McKenna.

* 3,000 Hours: Leo Farley, Tom Powell.

* 6,000 Hours: Ray Mitchell.

Tom Powell can be inducted into the 1,000 Hour Membership as he donated 1,141 hours in 2021.

Seven volunteers can be inducted into the 20+ 12 months Membership for volunteering their providers for 20 years or extra: Marilyn Bookman (25 Years), Herma Eddy (29 Years), Jacie Hays (21 Years), Jody Kohler (25 Years), Jayne Stehle (32 Years), Casi Stewart (26 Years) and Frances Tornes (40 Years).

The 2021/2022Volunteer of the Month Recipients are: August, Wendy Lowe; September, Diane Bower; October, George Lisk; November, Bryan Berkemer; December, Diana Sams; January, Jeff Bradford; February, Barbara Martin; March, Sandra Smith; April, Patti Schumacher; Might, Kevin Scheve; June, Kent Corridor; July, Vivian Hammat.

The 2022 Volunteer of the 12 months can be introduced on the banquet.

Previously 12 months, 173 volunteers donated 19,966 hours of service.

In addition to their time, volunteers have donated to a number of completely different initiatives, together with child burp cloths and puddle pads for the hospital’s nursery, coronary heart pillows for coronary heart sufferers and stuffed animals offered to the kids when handled all through Memorial Well being System.
