The fifth Version of the East African Neighborhood (EAC) Arts and Tradition Competition, popularly referred to as Jumuiya ya Africa Mashariki Utamaduni Competition (JAMAFEST) scheduled for 4th -Twelfth September 2022 in Bujumbura, Burundi.
The primary goal of the Competition themed “Harnessing cultural assets to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 within the EAC” is to advertise regional socio-cultural integration by way of arts and tradition by offering a regional platform to showcase tradition as a chief driver of EAC integration.
Addressing delegates through the fifth assembly of the Regional Steering Committee (RSC) held through hybrid format, the EAC Deputy Secretary Normal in control of the Productive and Social Sectors, Hon. Christophe Bazivamo, stated that the primary venue of the pageant shall be at Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura the place the primary stage for cultural performances, the exhibition and market place shall be positioned.
