With COVID-19 circumstances persevering with to rise, town is cracking down on companies that don’t implement the just lately enacted indoor masks mandate.

Town issued 16 “notices to appropriate” and 20 citations to companies between Aug. 20 and 29, metropolis officers stated Tuesday.

Beneath the mandate, which went into impact Aug. 20, a enterprise could be issued a discover to appropriate or a quotation for both failing to require masks or for not displaying a masks mandate signal.

“As circumstances proceed to rise in Chicago, [the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection} is putting all businesses on high alert and letting them know that we will be strictly enforcing the City of Chicago mask mandate,” the city said in a statement.

Businesses receiving notices or citations ranged from a music school to a Karaoke bar to an Italian restaurant.

The city is encouraging the public to call 311 to report mask violations.
