BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – For the previous 35 years Darryl Bruffett has been sharing highlights, scores, and tales from the sports activities world right here within the Brazos Valley and past.
To rejoice the milestone anniversary, the Metropolis of Faculty Station Mayor Karl Mooney proclaimed Wednesday, August 3, 2022 “Darryl Bruffett Day.”
Bruffett started his profession at Information 3 in 1987 and was named Sports activities Director in 1990. In that point, he has honored greater than 900 highschool student-athletes as Classroom Champions and is starting his thirty sixth season overlaying native highschool soccer groups and the Texas A&M soccer staff, the place he has coated the applications of six head coaches in three conferences.

He met his spouse Lori on the station after she took a job in gross sales in 1988.
“Whereas we have been co-workers for a few years, she is now the station supervisor so I work for her each on the station and at dwelling,” Bruffett jokes. “We’ve got three grown youngsters: Ryan, Tyler & Shelby. I get pleasure from working with my arms after I’m not overlaying sports activities. I constructed a hen coop in the course of the shelter-n-place order throughout COVID-19 which means I’ve six chickens to go together with my Dalmation Jase.”
