Filmmaker Michael Sarnoski recollects an article describing how truffle hunters would sit on their porches at evening to guard their precious canine and pigs from being stolen. He translated that picture right into a script with co-creator/producer Vanessa Block. Their film “Pig” stars Nicholas Cage as a former chef in Oregon who retreats to the wilderness to hunt truffles. The actor ready for the position by spending time with Portland chef Chris Czarnecki, whose household owns a truffle oil firm and acted as a meals marketing consultant on the movie.
