IT’S FOUNDER, A NEIL — ANNELL ALVAREZ, SAYS SHE’S DANCED SINCE SHE WAS 5. SO WHEN A FRIEND WAS LOOKING FOR HISPANIC DANCERS TO PERFORM, SHE KNEW THIS WAS HER CALLING. THE DANCE TROUPE CAME TOGETHER QUICKLY. >> YES, WE ARE AMERICAN. YOU KNOW, WE’RE BORN AND RAISED HERE AND EVERYTHING. BUT WE DO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL CULTURE THAT NEEDS TO BE REPRESENTED. AND NOW ME BEING A FIRST TIME MOM, I WOULD LIKE TO SHOW THAT TO MY SON TOO. >> THE WOMEN DESIGN THEIR OWN DRESSES. THEY PRACTICE TWICE A WEEK. ALVAREZ SAYS TRADITIONALLY THESE DANCES WOULD BE PERFORMED BY A MAN AND WOMAN, SO AN ALL WOMEN MEXICAN DANCE TROUPE WAS A BIT OF A SHOCK TO SOME. BUT THE SUPPORT HAS BEEN AMAZING. PERFORMING AT WEDDINGS FESTIVALS QUINCEANERAS. THEN CAME THE INVITATION THE DANCERS WILL NEVER FORGET. PERFORMING AT ARROWHEAD STADIUM, FOR A CHIEFS HALFTIME SHOW. >> IT WAS PROBABLY THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. IT WAS CRAZY. IT WAS NERVE RACKING. IT WAS LIFE CHANGING. ALMOST YOU COULD SAY WE ONLY DANCE FOR A MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS BUT IT WAS THE BEST PERFORMANCE PROBABLY OF ALL OF OUR LIVES. >> NOW THE REQUESTS KEEP COMING. THE DANCERS SAY THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT IS HEARING HOW THEY’VE BROUGHT A LITTLE BIT OF MEXICO TO KANSAS CITY, AND THAT MAKES THEM PROUD
