NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India NV Ramana on Friday stated senseless aping of world tradition is obliterating our wealthy heritage, cultural symbols and ethnic identities and the time has come for the youth to revive their hyperlinks with our magnificent languages.
Talking at Osmania College in Hyderabad throughout the conferment of the honoris causa on him, Justice N V Ramana stated: “As this international tradition engulfs the world, the necessity for sustaining range assumes nice significance. The worldwide tradition is rising as a risk to native cultural symbols and identities. The social media, tv and popular culture glamourise a selected lifestyle, and sadly we’re blindly aping the identical.”
He added, “In accordance with the 2021 Unesco World Report of Languages, half of the roughly 7,000 languages spoken on the earth at present might disappear by the tip of the century. With lack of every language, we aren’t solely shedding appreciable literature and folklore, but in addition shedding knowledge inherited by means of generations.”
Justice Ramana stated he’s not against globalisation, however is merely stating the irreversible adversarial impression it has on a number of essential facets of our nation. “The rising inequities between lessons want pressing consideration. We have to discover a mannequin of globalisation which is sustainable, equitable and only for all,” he stated.
