Notre Dame added a serious dedication on Saturday, as four-star defensive lineman Devan Houstan dedicated to the Preventing Irish on CBS Sports activities HQ. Houstan, who’s from Canada and a product of St. James College in Hagerstown, Maryland, dedicated to Notre Dame over UConn, Central Michigan, Michigan and Duke.
Houstan is one more celebrity addition to Notre Dame’s ridiculous No. 1 recruiting class in 2023. The Preventing Irish have 12 commitments within the class, all of that are of the blue-chip selection. Houstan is the fourth defensive lineman in Notre Dame’s class, becoming a member of top-150 prospects Keon Keeley, Brenan Vernon and Boubacar Traore.
Initially from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Houstan is the youthful brother of Michigan basketball participant Caleb Houstan. At 6-foot-5 and 270 kilos, Houstan is rated the No. 192 total participant within the 247Sports Composite Rankings and the No. 26 defensive lineman.
“Explosive at snap and covers floor rapidly,” 247Sports Nationwide Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn wrote in Houstan’s scouting report. “Reveals closing pace when transferring down hill. Has energetic palms and reveals stable approach with swim and spin strikes. Capable of sink hips and win leverage battles and combines stack-and-shed skill with re-direction alongside line of scrimmage … multi-year starter at Prime 20 program. Has late spherical NFL Draft potential with skill to enhance upon it.”
