Saint Joseph Mercy Health System pledges $1M to Washtenaw County homeless

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A million {dollars} will likely be used to create supportive options for these experiencing homelessness inside Washtenaw County due to Saint Joseph Mercy Well being System.

On Thursday, the hospital system introduced its monetary dedication in honor of healthcare advocate and Washtenaw Housing Alliance board member Sister Yvonne and of Garry C. Faja, the primary president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy.

The pledged cash will likely be used to deal with underlying problems with homelessness, together with psychological healthcare, employment coaching and substance abuse counseling.

Funds, given by way of the Sr. Yvonne Gellise Endowment Fund for Everlasting Supportive Housing Providers (SYG Fund), will go to partnering companies collaborating with Washtenaw Housing Alliance.
