ALPENA — When highschool athletes signal their letters of intent to play collegiate sports activities, rapport with their new coach is a theme that repeatedly pops up.
For Grace Garrison, Mid Michigan School and coach Greg Welch checked that field.
Garrison, a Rogers Metropolis senior, not too long ago grew to become the latest member of the Lakers’ softball program after signing her LOI. She’s the second Rogers Metropolis participant to signal with the Lakers after Kyrsten Altman signed in 2019.
“I’m tremendous excited to go play for Mid Michigan,” Garrison stated. “The coach is so near my journey ball coach and it makes me comfy to go play with the staff.”
That coach, Mike Tulgestke, has been a useful supply of assist to Garrison during the last a number of years.
